Knuckle Duster Information |
Some of the many styles of Knuckle Dusters over the years. |
Late 19th Century, early 20th Century style with straight across finger stalls and T palm swell. Examples be seen in old sporting goods catalogs. Finger stalls accommodate the fingers only one way with the smallest hole for the little finger only. |

British design from early 20th Century. This design was often incorporated into British Knuckle Knives. Typically small finger stalls that only fit the hand one way; little finger in the smallest hole. This set is made of silver and has been gold plated. It is also marked with the British Army “Broad Arrow” hallmark. A similar set graces the cover of the book “The Firm” about the British Gangster lifestyle, including an interview with Dave Courtney, infamous knuckle duster user. See Dave’s brass knuckles here. |
Classic US design from the early 20th Century. Found in Police Supply catalogs like the one below. This example is steel. Modern versions of this design are still available today. Finger stalls are quite tight fitting. |

A pair of rare examples of WW II British knuckle dusters made for the British Army. They were produced in small quatities along with the knife below; the BC 41 knuckle knife. The top set has rounded knuckles, but the more common set are the pointed ones. Auction examples in the 1980s have sold for more than $500.00 and today would easily top that. |
